Drug Product Technician

2nd shift: Noon-8:30pm CST

We have a career opportunity for a Drug Product Technician (DPT). As a Production Operator – Drug Product you will be responsible for ALI Pharmaceutical Manufacturing’s (ALI-PM) production tasks in the tablet manufacturing area, including operating pharmaceutical tableting presses, blenders, and other equipment, and maintaining accurate and concurrent documentation of tasks.

The technician will be located at American Laboratories' Pharmaceutical Manufacturing location off 102nd St., working with different management levels and support personnel in other office locations.

The impact you will have:

  • You will be working in the tablet manufacturing area or other production group as assigned by management.
  • You will read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Manufacturing Instructions (MIs).
  • You will assist with shipping, receiving, or transferring of products, materials, or components to be used, stored or sold by ALI-PM.
  • You will assemble, operate, and clean the tableting process equipment, such as tablet press, filters, scales, blenders, sifters, and any other equipment used on the processing floor.
  • You will operate test equipment such as: Hardness testers, thickness gauges, pH meters, refractometers, hydrometers, and others.
  • You will access, maintain and record operational data from computer-based systems, such as Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP) system, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and web-based programs.
  • You will assist any personnel in troubleshooting and determining root cause of process deviations.
  • You will assist Technical Services on process improvement and product development projects as assigned by management.

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • Experience working in a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated, cGMP facility and knowledge of production processes, equipment and documentation procedures required.
  • Experience with tableting presses, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, GMP, documentation, and data integrity requirements.
  • Ability to competently perform processing procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical requirements may include working with enzyme products, occasionally rolling or moving drums weighing from 50-350lbs., and lifting drums weighing up to 120lbs.; using material handling equipment such as barrel carts, dollies, pallet jacks and forklifts; bending, twisting and lifting material out of drums and boxes; working with and handling hazardous chemicals.
