SUMMARY
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles containers or selects preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications.
Uses reports in SAP to monitor shipping workload and to prioritize upcoming shipment requirements.
Performs transactions in SAP to remove finished goods from inventory and document shipment of items so accounting can bill for shipped goods.
Perform transactions in SAP with high degree of accuracy to support purchasing, production, accounting, and shipping processes that are critical to the business system.
Create documents out of SAP that are critical to shipping activities (ex. Bills of Lading, picking tickets, etc.) with high degree of accuracy.
Compares items packed with customer's order and other identifying data.
Performs clerical tasks such as computer data entry, typing correspondence, and keeping files.
Assume Shipping Lead duties in the event the Shipping Lead is absent.
Responsible for checking the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing offices' input to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines.
Any changes or corrections must be communicated to appropriate departments so future product output is consistent with customer expectations.

This job has limited supervisory responsibilities during the Shipping Manager's absence.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
