Scotts Bluff County Road & Bridge Department is hiring a full time Equipment Operator II / Seasonal Weed Spray Operator.

This position combines skilled work in road maintenance and general labor during ½ if the year and Seasonal Weed Spray Operator the other ½ of the year.

Spray Operator is approximately April through October. This position will work with direct supervision of the Weed Superintendent in the performance of daily spray operations. Operation of 4-wheel drive trucks and equipment used for spraying.  Ability to mix chemicals, use backpack and pick-up sprayers, daily maintenance of equipment, trucks and shop maintenance under direct supervision of the Weed Superintendent.

Knowledge of common weeds and have the ability to distinguish noxious weeds is helpful.   Be able to use responsible judgment in all spraying situations. Be able to comply with all pesticides application regulations.  Be able to lift 50 pounds; read and follow instructions.

Must have possession of a valid Nebraska driver’s license and be able to pass background check, DOT drug & alcohol screening. Starting wage $19.56. Benefit package available. This position qualifies for Veteran’s Preference. Scotts Bluff County is an EOE/AA.
