RN Clinical Supervisor - Omaha Pediatrics 7a-7p (36 hrs)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the 24-hour/7 days per week clinical management of an assigned patient caseload.
  • Responsibilities include assessing patient care needs, developing a plan to prioritize needs, developing measurable patient-centered goals and outcomes, and coordinating staff to meet the patient and families immediate and long term needs.
  • Interacts with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members to determine medical and rehab priorities for care and treatment objectives, observes and reports the patient's rehab progress towards outcomes and facilitates the success of the inpatient program.
  • Responsible for the completion and coordination of admission, ongoing and discharge assessments and plans.
  • Develops the overall rehab nursing plan of care with measurable patient-centered goals and outcomes and updates continuously.
  • Understands and utilizes individual job descriptions and program and facility policies and procedures to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Discerns between significant and insignificant clinical changes in patient status.
  • Compiles, compares and records patient's assessments, patient's cares, medications and treatments for documentation of cares rendered for a patient caseload.
  • Responsible for coordination of patient care for assigned caseload of patients.
  • Communicates with physicians and ensures orders are transcribed and implemented accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for patient education/coordination.
  • Compiles billable supply charges to ensure accuracy on patients' accounts.
  • Analyzes and compiles current research to expand knowledge.
  • Actively participates with other health team members on all shifts in developing and implementing the overall rehab plan of care by attending the team meetings and communicating changes to the appropriate nursing staff.
  • Interfaces with the case manager and other interdisciplinary team members every day to ensure that a summary of priority issues and progress for each patient are communicated.
  • Develops an effective patient/family/nurse relationship and communicates priority issues to other health team members.
  • Interacts with the rehab and medical physician on daily rounds to coordinate patient information in order to determine medical and rehab priorities for care and treatment objectives.
  • Assumes a leadership role in representing nursing in interdisciplinary team development, operational issues and program evaluation.
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Must possess current Nebraska R.N. licensure.
  • Requires current Module C CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills within a position at Madonna or one year experience in primary nursing interdisciplinary team care, case management or nursing management.
  • CRRN preferred.
