Compensation: $65,000-$100,000
Location: Omaha, NE - Hybrid

The job: 

As a Cloud Engineer at Buildertrend, youâ??ll help power the tech behind the scenesâ??keeping our infrastructure scalable, secure, and ready for anything. Youâ??ll collaborate with engineers and architects to automate deployments, optimize system performance, and enable smooth software delivery. Your contributions are crucial for the platform that powers our solutions, ensuring construction pros stay on time, on budget, and in control. You also play a key role in enabling our Product Engineering teams to rapidly deliver high-quality software. From multi-region deployments to real-time monitoring, the systems you support make our productâ??and our peopleâ??stronger every day

What you will do: 

• Collaborate with Architects, Site Reliability Engineers, QA Engineers and vendors as required to help our engineers smoothly and reliably deliver spectacular software to our customers.
• Collaborate with decision makers and client stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
• Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
• Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
• Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
• Provide orientation and training to end users for modified and new systems.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities for production support.
• Collaborate in major projects that may include platform migrations, multi-region high-availability deployments, on-demand test environments, metrics and observability, and more.
   

Who you are and what you need: 

• 2 years of experience in cloud technologies or a related IT role.
• Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• Google Cloud Platform experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and/or Terraform is helpful.
• Understanding of Kubernetes and/or Docker is a plus!
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to participate in rotating on-call responsibilities for production support
