About this Opportunity:
The Director, Workplace Strategy plays a pivotal role in shaping Orions in-office experience to support a thriving, collaborative, and high-performing culture. This leader is responsible for developing and executing a forward-thinking workplace strategy that enhances team member experience, optimizes space utilization, and manages real estate investments across all U.S. locations.
This role requires a strategic thinker and strong communicator who can align physical environments with business goals, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure that every Orion location reflects our values and culture. This role will lead the Omaha-based workplace team and partner with stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance, and Operations to deliver inspiring, safe, and efficient workspaces that support our hybrid work model.
Candidates must work 5 days a week in our Omaha, NE office.
In this role, youll get to:
Lead the development and execution of in-office workplace strategies that foster collaboration, productivity and team member well-being
Optimize space utilization across all locations, balancing collaborative (we), individual (me), and team (us) spaces, with a focus on flexibility and scalability
Oversee desk reservation systems and analyze utilization data to inform real-time space planning decisions and future office needs
Guide the design and layout of office spaces to reflect the companys culture, drive engagement, and support hybrid work policies
Manage the campus facility team(s) and oversee facility operations at all U.S. office locations (including reception, mailroom, and coordination)
Serve as the primary liaison with landlords, brokers, and vendors for all U.S. office locations
Coordinate office buildouts, renovations, and lease transitions in partnership with IT, contractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to operations
Develop and enforce building safety protocols, emergency response plans, and compliance audits across all office locations
Maintain readiness for on-call building emergencies and ensure all locations meet safety and accessibility standards
Stay updated on regulatory requirements related to office facilities and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
Support ESG goals by tracking and reducing environmental impact (e.g., energy, water, waste)
Lead initiatives to improve sustainability and promote responsible workplace practices
Own the facilities budget, including forecasting, capital planning, and cost optimization
Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure timely, transparent communication of project milestones and deliverables
Evaluate, select, and manage vendors to ensure best-in-class service at competitive rates

Conduct regular site visits, reviewing operations, service levels, and team engagement across locations, and provide action plans for improvements

Has balanced mix of people, technical, analytical and operations skills
Has superior written and interpersonal communication skills
Has demonstrated project management skills
Has experience in managing corporate office campus and satellite office locations is necessary
Has experience with measuring environmental impact and identifying methods to reduce footprint and increase energy efficiency
Has strong business acumen; an understanding of the financial implications of decisions, experienced with detailed budgets and forecasting
Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with vendors, tenants, internal team members and senior leaders
Has a bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field desired
Has a minimum of 5 years experience in workplace design, facility management, including space forecasting, planning expansion (specifically in corporate campuses and offices)
Has Experience in furniture installation, reconfiguration, including vendor management
Has proven track record in managing office expansions, office redesigns, furniture installations, and vendor management.
Has experience in optimizing hybrid workplace models and aligning office design with organizational culture and business objectives
Obtains Orion Industry Certification
Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and works effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Salary Range:
$94,869.00 - $146,945.00The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
