Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Conference and Event Operations Coordinator.

This full time position works non-traditional hours (Tuesday-Saturday) to ensure event and conferencing standards for key internal and external stakeholders. 

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of event and building operations for the Harper Center.
    • Engaging in the planning, execution, and take-down processes of events by partnering with the Centralized Reservations team.
    • Analyzing and creating daily task lists through reservations reports.
    • Supervising event set-up/tear-down and making last-minute event set-up alterations.
    • Administering the Harper Center’s facility and equipment, including conferencing and event equipment, event furniture, common area furniture, and other special technology inventories as assigned by the Assistant Director.
  • Serves as a key partner and point-of-contact for the operational needs of the President’s Office, the Heider College of Business leadership team, Donor Engagement groups, and external and internal stakeholders through supporting and planning events.
  • Acts as a direct supervisor for the Harper Center’s student workforce through daily communication, guidance, and training. As a liaison between the Conference and Event Services team and the Heider College of Business as well as key external and internal stakeholders, the coordinator collaborates with faculty and staff members, event planners, and sponsors to ensure professional event support and execution.
  • Responsible for upholding Creighton University’s operational standards and the event venues’ market competitiveness by ensuring the success of revenue-generating events and community engagement efforts.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required, educational experience in business administration, communication, event/hospitality management preferred.
  • One year of related experience required. Experience working in higher education, conference, or event centers is a plus.
  • Preferred: background working in facilities, hospitality, event services, or related customer-facing and guest experience positions focusing on event planning and execution.
  • Supervisory experience or student staff supervision preferred.
