First Shift (United States of America)Nebraska Medicine is looking for a Certified Hand Therapist to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive evaluations and deliver expert treatment for a diverse range of diagnoses affecting the hand and upper extremity. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with orthopedic hand surgeons, providing therapy and splint fabrication, for patients currently under their care.
Perform evaluations, planning, and implementation of upper extremity treatments and fabrication of orthoses. Independently assess and treat a variety of complex ortho and trauma injuries of the upper extremity. Demonstrate proficiency and expertise in orthosis fabrication in order to assist with walk-in patients from hand surgeons' clinics. Assist with department goal setting, program planning, clinical instruction, and staff instruction in order to maintain a progressive and educationally motivated staff. Carry out day to day communication and duties with teamwork and professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
* Graduate of an approved program for occupational therapy OR physical therapy with a Bachelor's degree or higher required.
* Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong team orientation, and proficiency with items found in a typical rehab facility (e.g., transfer and ADL adaptive equipment and splint supplies) required.
* Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Nebraska required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon completion of unit orientation required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
* Physical Agent Modality certification required.
* Must hold the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credentials through Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) required.
