Position Qualification

Position Summary
A self-motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate is required to study the mechanism(s) of the role of reactive oxygen species in pancreatic cancer development and metastasis for the laboratory of Maher Abdalla, PhD, in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology, University of Nebraska Medical Center. Current focus is mainly on using pancreatic cancer cells and animal models to develop and treat pancreatic cancer. Candidate should be able to utilize standard laboratory techniques including mammalian cell culture; DNA, RNA, and protein isolation; RNA quantification, PCR, RT-PCR, and quantitative real-time PCR; protein analysis including protein quantification, gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation, and IHC. In addition, he/she should be able to handle genetically engineered animal models, animals with immunocompromised health status, and animals recovering from surgery, and perform genetic integrity tests and other invasive procedures.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Cancer Biology or related discipline.

Supplemental Qualifications
Knowledge in bioinformatics analysis software.
