Position Summary
The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) Department of Radiology is actively recruiting for a board-certified Body/Abdominal Imaging Radiologist to join our team of compassionate, patient-focused faculty. Our growing, research-oriented department encompasses approximately 50,000 square feet and utilizes state-of-the-art equipment in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear medicine. The UNMC campus has seen rapid growth in recent years with the construction of several new inpatient and outpatient facilities. In addition to this, planning for a new main campus inpatient facility is also underway. This busy practice is based at our University campus and also supports several satellite locations for our hospital partner, Nebraska Medicine and several other free standing imaging clinics and hospitals around the Omaha area.
The successful candidate should have outstanding credentials or experience in the interpretation of CT, MR, and ultrasound images. Strong interest and dedication to academic radiology and teaching of residents, and fellows is required. Preparation and presentation of didactic lectures and rotations through Chest and GI imaging may also be required. Interest in research both in radiology and in conjunction with other specialties is strongly encouraged. Education of medical students and allied health professionals is also available, if desired.
The Department of Radiology offers a collegial and supportive working atmosphere, and as Nebraska’s only public academic health sciences center, UNMC is committed to the education of a 21st century health care work force. By supporting the mission of education, discovery, and leading-edge care, the Academic Health Sciences Center aims to improve the health of people and the communities across Nebraska and around the world.
UNMC is nestled in mid-town Omaha with many amenities nearby. A mid-western city with a low cost of living, Omaha has many options for excellent public and private schools, with several universities and additional training programs available in the area. The city has an active food and entertainment life, and Eppley Airfield serves all major airlines with exceptionally easy access. Family activities include numerous parks and recreational facilities, children’s museum, and children’s theater. Numerous golf courses and country clubs also can be found spread throughout the city, and The Henry Doorly Zoo has consistently been named one of the premier zoos in the United States.
